NOTICE OF VACANCIES

The Town of Scott is seeking applicants for the Zoning Board of Appeals.  The Town Board is seeking to appoint two individuals to a term which will end on January 15, 2028.  You must be a resident of the Town of Scott to apply. Land use training is required. 

 

The Town of Scott is seeking applicants for the Board of Assessment Review. The Town Board is seeking to appoint two individuals to a (5year) term which will end in 2031.  You must be a resident of the Town of Scott to apply.

 

The Town of Scott is seeking community members who would be interested in joining our recreation committee.

Legal Notice, Town of Scott Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing before the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Scott will be held Monday June 15, 2026 at the Scott Town Hall, 6689 State Route 41, Homer, New York 13077, to consider the following application pursuant to the Town of Scott Zoning Law.

In the Matter of the application of Nicole Ferro regarding the property located at #6856 Grout Brook Road, Scott, NY.  Tax ID: 24.00-01-22.000, for the following area variances:

  1.  Residential Zoning District requires a minimum Front Yard Depth of 50’ from the road easement (local Law9.4.1).  Applicant is requesting a 32-foot area variance which would leave approximately 18 feet of front yard depth.
  2. Residential Zoning District states that no septic system shall be placed within 200 feet of Grout Brook (local Law 14.5).  The applicant is requesting a 160 foot area variance with the proposed septic tank approximately 40 feet from Grout Brook.  The applicant has an approved engineering plan for an above ground holding tank.

The above application can be viewed at the Scott Town Hall, Town Clerks Office, 6689 State Route 41, Homer, NY, call (607) 749-2902 during regular business hours as posted on the Town of Scott website,  http://scott-ny.org

Persons wishing to appear at such hearing may do so in person, by attorney, or other representative.  Communication in writing in relation thereto may be files with the Board or presented at such Hearing.
