The Town Board of the Town of Scott serves as the governing body for this picturesque rural town nestled in the heart of Upstate New York. Comprising five elected members, including the Town Supervisor and four Council Members, the board convenes regularly to address various matters concerning the community's well-being and development.
The Town Supervisor presides over meetings, ensuring that discussions remain focused and productive while also serving as the town's chief executive officer. Alongside the Supervisor, Council Members participate in decision-making processes, providing diverse perspectives and representing the interests of Scott's residents.
The Town Board meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m at the Town of Scott Town Hall, 6689 State Route 41, Homer NY.
Town Council persons have a term of office of four years. Election of members of the Town Board is staggered, so that the whole Town Board will not be due for election in the same year. The office of Town Supervisor has a term of two years.
